Then, a few years ago, I discovered Terry Pratchett’s novel Wintersmith. My art has always sought out the beauty in the darkness, whether in words or pictures. Bleakness, overcast, nighttime – in some ways this is my natural element.
While many people, if not most, seem to hate winter, I never have. I was born at 4:27am on Feb 2 – Imbolc, the midpoint between Solstice and Equinox.
